MEGIN

Privacy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

In short: Megin does not collect anything about you. Everything you enter stays on your own phone. The app has no account, no ads and no tracking, and it does not send your data to anyone.

Who is behind the app

Aleks Pawlowicz (Megin), Norway. Privacy questions: [YOUR EMAIL].

What is stored, and where

These details are stored locally in the app on your iPhone, because the app needs them to work:

Your data never leaves your phone, and the publisher has no access to it. If you use iCloud Backup, Apple may include the app's data in that backup, as with any other app. You control that in your phone's settings.

Permissions

Purchases (Premium)

If you buy Megin Premium, the purchase is handled by Apple. The app only learns whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment details.

Third parties

The app uses no analytics or advertising services. The only outside service it talks to is Open Food Facts, an open food database: when you scan a barcode that isn't in your own foods yet, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to find the product. Nothing about you is sent with it, and the product is then saved on your phone so the next scan works offline. If you tap a link to a website, it opens in your browser and that website's own rules apply.

Backup and export

Under Profile you can save a backup or export your workouts as a file. The file goes where you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, email, AirDrop). You decide who gets it.

Deletion

Profile → Delete all data removes everything the app has stored. Deleting the app from your phone removes the data as well.

Children

The app is not made for children under 13, and we do not collect information in any case.

Health

Calorie targets, weight advice and strength levels in the app are general guidance, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor if you are ill, pregnant, injured, or have or have had problems with food and weight.
